3. Are there examinations during the residency? How are the residents’ evaluated?:

The medical resident must be evaluated continuously by the
tutor through direct observation of activities and procedures
carried out and through other information sources
(RIII, RII, as appropriate). Also there are writing exams.

4. How many hours of work per week are there?:

70 hours (90 hours shifts included)
All shifts are compulsory. There are approximately 2 shifts per week.

5. What is the ratio between this country’s doctors and its population?:

1 doctor per 1000 inhabitants

6. Which languages are necessary for the medical residency?:

Spanish (principal) and English

1. A. Is there a tuition fee for the residency? If so, how much (in euro or usd)?:

Yes.
Between $30-250 per month (depends on the university)

2. What is the annual salary (in euro or u.s.d)?:

9.032,2581 without shifts and 10.322,5806 with shifts aprox.

3. How expensive are the costs of living (average annual expenditure in euro or u.s.d)?:

Between 648.6 Euro to 4.838,7097 Euro annual as an example, but it depends of the place where you are doing your residency. The cost of living are cheaper some places than others.

Section C. Application Procedure
1. Accreditation procedure:

The medical foreign student graduated must submit certified photocopy of the Medical degree, revalidated in the country by the National Assembly of Rectors or university authorized.
In the case of international scholarships is sufficient to submit the professional title with the corresponding consular legalization and authorization of the Colegio Medico del Peru (CMP).
There is no general application for national hospitals. All applications are processed between the university and hospital. Applicants apply through the university.

2. Other requirements:

Get tuition for Colegio Medico del Peru.
-If there is a subspeciality, to get the speciality first.

3. Differences in application procedure depending on country of origin:

The difference is on the number of seats given for residency and the cost is greater for foreign applicants.

4. Ratio between applicants and physicians who finally obtain a residency position:

50:1 in Lima (capital of Peru), 10:1 in Trujillo (other city of Peru) for example

5. Does everyone who passes the medical license examinations gain a residency position in a hospital?:

No, the residence is achieved by browsing competitive among all students.

6. Specialties in which it is most difficult to obtain a position:

Subspecialties on Surgery.

7. Is there a waiting list for medical graduates who want to begin a residency?:

No, exept when in the process of admission someone resigns

8. Countries, except this one, in which the medical residency title is recognized:

Automatically, none

9. Requirements for international physicians to be able to work in this country after completing their specialization there:
