1. Accreditation procedure:
That is depending on you country of origin.
If you fullfill the requierments of the EC directive 93/16 (that is basically being a EU citizen having aquired a license in one of the member countries) you do have a right to be licensed in Germany (receive the so called Approbation). You just have to apply with the state authority of the applicable German state:
http://www.bundesaerztekammer.de/30/Auslandsdienst/20FAQ/FAQ_D/D5.html
If you do not fullfill the requirements you will also have to contact the state authority mentioned above. The authorities do have a list of required forms. Generally they require prove of a license as a medical doctor in the applicants home country, a letter from a German employer confirming a job offer, German language profficency. These applicants will only receive limited licenses for an ad-finitum time, at a specified insitution for a specific residency program. Please note that the Grerman foreigners act may also impose some restrictions for working in Germany
3. Differences in application procedure depending on country of origin:
Generally you will need to send your application directly to the departement of you choice at your hospital of choice. Applicants meeting the EC Directive 93/16 will be considered as German applicants for most practical puposes, all others will need to go through the extra buraucracy mentioned above.
4. Ratio between applicants and physicians who finally obtain a residency position:
There is virtually no unemployment for physicians in Germany. However since there is no centrally run residency program this data is mostly not available.
5. Does everyone who passes the medical license examinations gain a residency position in a hospital?:
International Residency positions are awarded at the discretion of the doctors that are authoried by the medical chambers to run residency programs. They have to hire you for a residency possition.
6. Specialties in which it is most difficult to obtain a position:
Again no centralized data. Pediatrics is considered highly competitive. Also many smaller subjects since there are not many residency possitions to begin with.
7. Is there a waiting list for medical graduates who want to begin a residency?:
Hiring a graduate for a residency position is a decission of the concerned hospital. This is a regular job on the regular job market.
8. Countries, except this one, in which the medical residency title is recognized:
That is up to the discretion of the recognizing country. Within the EU the directive for automatic recognition is currently under review so there is no firm data.
9. Requirements for international physicians to be able to work in this country after completing their specialization there:
Depending on whether you want to work in a employed position or in a private practice you have to get a medical license that is not limited to the residency program as mentioned above and the necessary legal permission to practice medicine in Germany be state authorities. This is subject to change. The up to date information can be obtained with the Regional Doctor Chambers.

Accredition procedure
I would like to ask if there are existing writing guilds and openings for essay writing services because I am quite a skilled writer, both in poems, songs and prose. I hope that you could shed some light on this matter because my wife is heavily pregnant with our third child and we have some trouble making ends meet because of inflation as well as the high cost of living here in Auschwitz. Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Application for residency program
To whom it may concern,
I had been graduated as a general practitioner from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (Tehran, Iran) in 2005. Since then I have been working as a general practitioner and researcher. I would like to continue my education as a resident in general surgery in Germany.
Would you please inform me about the requirements and fees.
Please do not hesitate if any other information is required.
Sincerely,

Thanks for the informative post
Thanks for the informative post with a great "Frequently Asked Question" section. Is there any specialized program on Addiction Treatment in Germany? I want to know the duration of the program if there any. And what kind of restriction does the German Foreigners Act impose on doctors? Thanks again for sharing the resources.
Is plastic surgery a subspecialty of general surgery?
Hi!
I would like to do the specialty of Plastic surgery in berlin, but I can't find a hospital where to do it. I don't mean I can't find a place that will accept me, I mean I can't find any place. For example, if you go the site of the deutsche gesellschaft fuer kinder und juengemedizin you can find a list of klinikum that are accredited in Berlin, including the Charite, where I did Erasmus. Unfortunately the Charite doesn't have a Department of Plastische chirurgie and I can't find a list of hospitals, departments or klinikum that will accept assistentarzt! Can you give me a hint please? Do you have to take general surgery before doing plastic?
