No. The evaluation is done by the Tutor during the residency period and in the end of the residency.

Section B. Finance

No

Around 10.000 Euros a year (basic life: accommodation, food, transportation)

Section C. Application Procedure
1. Accreditation procedure:

One has to require the accreditation to the Portuguese “Internato Geral” to the Director Geral do Departamento de Modernização e Recursos da Saúde”.
He also has to present a document that proves his inscription in the “Ordem dos Médicos”.

2. Other requirements:

He has to do a medical communication test. (It's a test to see if you can understand Portuguese).

3. Differences in application procedure depending on country of origin:

There are no differences between applicants from Portugal and from any country in the European Union.
For the others it's more difficult.

4. Ratio between applicants and physicians who finally obtain a residency position:

9:10 but it depends

5. Does everyone who passes the medical license examinations gain a residency position in a hospital?:

Yes. The selection (in which specialty is someone accepted or not) is based on the grade of the exam.

6. Specialties in which it is most difficult to obtain a position:

Dermatology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Radiology

7. Is there a waiting list for medical graduates who want to begin a residency?:

No. If you dont get the required grade in the exam, you can apply next year.
