Section C. Application Procedure
1. Accreditation procedure:

Physicians can get the medical licence straight after they finish the major.
If you are foreigner, depending on the country of origin, you can obtain it.
Poland is becoming a new official member of E.U. so the laws applied around Haya Agreement will be accepted and confirmed within two years.

The national exam required to access to the senior season is structured in several steps, which must be passed by the applicants, including a formal proof of knowledge and skills during the clinical time.

2. Other requirements:

Considering the agreements between universities you will need to convalidate your licence through the Ministery of Health (see the web page to obtain the requirements)

3. Differences in application procedure depending on country of origin:

Polish graduates have the priority to choose the hospital and the service where they wish to work for the next years, but the Polish Ministery of Health is forced to reserve an amount of free places for foreigners who have the right to compete for the residency. This amount won't be bigger than 150 places.

4. Ratio between applicants and physicians who finally obtain a residency position:

During the next years, it is estimated that Poland will be exporting former M.D. abroad, especially in the U.K., Germany and France…so the ratio has to get down to 1:3 aproximately.

5. Does everyone who passes the medical license examinations gain a residency position in a hospital?:

Not in the exact same hospital but most of the times, there’s a chance to stay in the same city or in nearby villages

6. Specialties in which it is most difficult to obtain a position:

Surgeries are on a high level of demand… Also ophtalmologhy and dermatology

7. Is there a waiting list for medical graduates who want to begin a residency?:

Not actually

8. Countries, except this one, in which the medical residency title is recognized:

But the polish government is trying to join The Haya Agreement
