Section B. Finance
1. A. Is there a tuition fee for the residency? If so, how much (in euro or usd)?:

No, but: for certain training programmes the cost of training including salary have to be taken over by country of origin

2. What is the annual salary (in euro or u.s.d)?:

€ 20.000 - €30.000 depending on actual working time

for doctors from abroad except EU, the country of origin must take over the costs. A grant of at minimum €1000/month must be presented

3. How expensive are the costs of living (average annual expenditure in euro or u.s.d)?:

€ 10.000 – open end

Section C. Application Procedure
1. Accreditation procedure:

Before engaging in medical practice, registration with the competent Province Medical Chamber is obligatory (LINK LANDESÄRZTEKAMMER).

The following documents have to be presented:

• Proof of nationality
• Medical certificate confirming fitness to practice
• Proof of sufficient proficiency of the German language
• Proof of medical education, equivalent to the “Doktorat der gesamten Heilkunde“ (which is usually equivalent to the completion of medical studies in an EU Member state)
• In the case of subspecialisation: proof of specialist qualification resp. evidence, that the doctor meets the necessary requirements for medical practice as a specialist
• Confirmation issued by the employer, embassy, etc. that the costs of training are assumed, including salary (if not a member of EU)
• Confirmation of an official representative about full legal capacity (upon attainment of the age of 19), as well as good character and repute -trustworthiness- (extract from the judicial records).
Specialist training, resp. subspecialisation training has to be confirmed by the “Rasterzeugnis“.
NOTE: This certificate constitutes no basis for claiming a medical license in the concerned specialty in Austria.

Preconditions for obtaining a license to medical practice in Austria resp. in a Member State of the European Union
• EU Member State nationality
• Completion of medical studies in an EU Member State
• Specialist training, minimum duration 6 years (main course of specialisation plus compulsory complementary and optional complementary training), resp. subspecialisation training over 3 years undergone according to the present provisions of the Austrian Medical Training Regulations

Hi
I would like to obtain residency in Austria, but I have graduated in a non-EU country. Recently I have accredited my diploma in my home country Romania...is my diploma considered fully EU or no?
